The Zot uses the same concept that our great grandparents used – boiling water. After making their morning cup of tea, they’d take the remaining hot water out into the garden and pour it out on the weeds killing them.
The Zot works using the same method. It draws cold water from a hose or a backpack or a tank, heats the water in the handheld unit to spray on weeds.

WHAT MAKES THE ZOT DIFFERENT?

THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM

Unless you kill the root, the weed will just regrow. Unlike steamers and torches, the heat from the Zot is concentrated at the crown and penetrates below ground killing tissue at the top of the root and making regeneration less likely. No need to lug a fire extinguisher, no need for a cone to cover the weed you’re trying to kill – just point and shoot.

THE APPLICATION ZONE

Steamers and torches leave a large zone of destruction and torches cannot be used around flammable material (dry conifer needles, dry grass, wood chips, etc.) because of the fire danger. The Zot avoids these limitations by using needle-thin jets of scalding water which have a kill zone the size of a dime allowing you to kill the weed without harming the surrounding plants.

EASE OF USE

The Zot is a handheld instant heater and uses electricity to heat the water. The Zot is effective in any season and all weather conditions – hot, cold, dry, wet, or windy and it works equally well with all soil types – clay, sandy, silty, peaty chalky and loamy.

EFFECTIVENESS

The Zot is 100% effective on small to medium size weeds. Weeds taller than one foot can be killed with the Zot but you’ll still have a dead one foot tall weed in your yard. Better to pull it and then shoot it as it tries to return.
